Panther Tracks

In this class, students will be transformed into reporters who will produce their new school newspaper, Panther Tracks .

By reading the Tallahassee Democrat, students will learn about journalistic writing and then write their own news stories, feature articles and editorials.

October 20th, all students will go on a field trip to the Tallahassee Democrat where they will meet professional journalists and learn how the newspaper is produced.

Students will use the "Who-What-When-Where-Why-How" writing technique in a lead sentence that introduces important information in an interesting and cohesive way.

Students will include purposeful and accurate details, supported by approriate resources, to fully explain a story.

They will interview subjects by asking meaningul, open-ended questions and practice being good listeners and note takers.

Students will use appropriate vocabulary and sentence structure.

They will illustrate their articles with original graphics and photography.
